Thanks for re...The Seeking Disciple,

Thanks for responding. It means so much to me to hear from you.

This is the reason why I'm doing the work on the Doctrine of Eternal Security that I'm doing. Most of the sites I've been to (only the ones I've been to) seem to be content with arguing their position without considering the views of the other side. As someone who once believed in Eternal Security, I am sympathetic to the doctrine itself without agreeing with it. As such, I've been considering the "ES" verses along with the verses against the doctrine. This is so that, hopefully, those of the readership who do not agree will get to see that there is a position out there that can accommodate both verses.

I will be dealing with another example along these same lines soon...so stay tuned!!Deidre Richardson, B.A., M.Div.https://www.blogger.com/profile/04415891901162852180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172417803867627775.post-16387225716590191842010-05-02T04:24:48.542-07:002010-05-02T04:24:48.542-07:00I have seen this kind of "exegeis" mysel...I have seen this kind of "exegeis" myself in many churches that hold to OSAS. Rather than allowing the text to say what it means and mean what it says, they often read into the text their own doctrinal positions. We can all be guilty of this at times but we must seek to allow the Bible to speak for itself since it alone is the inerrant Word of the living and true God.

Good post!The Seeking Disciplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10850752852586928341noreply@blogger.com
